GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS 2nd ROUND TABLE EVENT
On the 8th of June 2021 the second Government Department round table event took place with representatives from several government departments in attendance.
Building upon the last round table event, we reviewed progress made and reflected on the 6th Carbon Budget now moving into law, which requires a 78% reduction in emissions by 2035, just 14 years away.
Reviewing the ESG forward strategy we were able to identify options and opportunities to engage with a wider range of government departments and to consider potential improvements in regulations, as well as considering implications for the ongoing use fossil fuels within the sector and the rise of “Greenwashing”.
