Government Departmental Round Table
The ESG was delighted to welcome a number of key Government departments to the first of a series of three round table events for the bereavement sector.
Given the significance of the Climate Emergency declarations and the sectors engagement with a number of departments, the aim of this event was to outline some of the specific challenges that are being faced in marshalling a proactive response to the reduction in emissions and general understanding of the time constraints ahead.
Reflecting the diversity of the sector, from both public and private entities and the general public’s limited awareness of the environmental impact of our rarely talked about sector, the ESG is striving to widen the debate and generate some traction to support inevitable changes which need to take place.
This event, whilst the first of three with Government Departments it is the 3rd of 12 events scheduled to take place over 6 months that will draw together views, comments, challenges and opportunities, which will be published before COP26 in November 2021.
